Abstract

This essay examines the elements of film form in the final scene of the movie The Lobster (Yorgos Lanthimos, 2015) to illustrate how they contribute to the meaning of the film.

Mazyar Mahan, University of Texas, Dallas

Mazyar Mahan is pursuing his Ph.D. in Visual and Performing Arts Studies at the University of Texas, Dallas. He has given lectures on Iranian Cinema at Chapman University and the University of California, Irvine and has presented his works at conferences such as the Society for Cinema and Media Studies conference, the Southwest Popular American Culture conference, and the University of Southern California Film Studies Conference. His scholarly work appeared in journals such as The Spectator and OffScreen.
