2026 Call for Papers
2026-02-06
If you are a KPU student who has written an essay in a 2000-, 3000-, or 4000-level English course in Summer 2025, Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 that you would like to submit it for consideration, please follow the submission instructions. There is information "For Authors" on a tab to the right of this page (you will be asked to register with the site before submitting). Under the "About" tab on the top of this page you will find a link for "Submissions".
Alight seeks to highlight the diversity of the voices and perspectives that enliven English courses at KPU. To that end, the journal welcomes submissions that focus on any text or topic that you studied: novels, short stories, poems, plays, films, graphic novels, works of non-fiction.
Your submission can be a research-based essay (with secondary sources), but feel free to submit original close readings as well. Secondary sources are not a requirement. There is no maximum or minimum word count.
Please proofread your submission carefully. If your essay includes secondary sources (and remember, this is not a requirement), please use MLA format (9th edition) for citations.
Submissions will be considered for Volume 3 of Alight, to be published in Fall 2026. The deadline to submit is May 15, 2026. Only one submission per student, please.
